AATCC Student Competition

Through the course Fashion Product Development and Prototyping, we spent the first half of the semester focusing on one of the scholarship competitions that the AATCC holds for students. The one we worked on individually, was their Concept 2 ConsumerⓇ Design Competition, where you have to create a line and focus on what test methods would be used for the quality assurance of the designs. Each year there is a different theme on what to incorporate into designs. For this year, the theme was Everlasting Style, where students had to design a line of 3 to 5 designs of office/work attire that is timeless in terms of sustainability, quality, and style. It also required to have a color palette with at least 3 non-neutral, fashion colors as well as at least two surface designs.

The competition submissions required two poster boards, one for the illustrations and technical flats, and the other to inform the viewer of the target market and to lay out the research behind the designs.
